All Sorts of Ways to Enjoy the Truck

When it comes to your needs in a truck, you want each part of the truck to serve a purpose in some way, so choose a trim, a cab and a cargo box. The four available trims of the Colorado are the Work Truck (WT), the LT, the Z71 and the ZR2.

With each one, you have the choice of a crew cab or an extended cab, depending on the amount of passengers you plan on having and how much room they'll require. Both cabs seat at least four, but the crew cab provides your passengers in the back seats with 38.3 inches of head room and 35.8 inches of leg room; the extended cab provides about 36.7 inches of head room and 28.6 inches of legroom. The box options are the 74X44.4 inch long-box or the 61.7X44.4 inch short-box, again, depending on how much space you need for cargo.

Al the Right Engines for Ellicott City

Next, take a look at our engine choices for each trim. All of them can be customized with a DOHC 3.6 liter, 308 horsepower V6, but the standard engine on the basic trim, the WT, is a DOHC 2.5 liter 200 horsepower I4 engine. This standard engine allows for a 1,401 pound payload and 3,500 pounds of maximum towing capacity, whereas the DOHC 3.6 liter gives you a 1,548 pound payload (1,100 pounds with the ZR2 trim) and a 7,000 pound towing capacity (5,000 pounds with the ZR2 trim).

Find Out What Comes Standard

After you find the right Colorado configuration to meet your needs, it's time to find out what your wants are, where safety and convenience technology are concerned. The higher the trim, the more features you'll find come standard. The WT has a lot more basic features, such as AM/FM radio, Bluetooth capabilities, power windows and manual climate control.

Upgrade to trims such as the ZR2, however, and you'll find that you get a lot more in terms of fancy entertainment and convenience technology, such as:

  • Premium leather upholstery
  • Chevy MyLink Radio System with OnStar Turn-By-Turn Navigation System and an eight-inch LCD monitor
  • Power heated two-way front driver and passenger seats with lumbar support
  • An auto-dimming rearview mirror with a compass
  • Heated door mirrors
  • And front fog lights

As you can see, the phrase "mid-sized truck" doesn't mean "unreliable," as you can see with the Chevy Colorado. This truck has some big ideas and a wide variety of uses, but there's so much more to see on and only one place for you to find it all.
