Need to slip away from the office and grab a quick bite? Or are you looking for a kicked-back spot to take the kids on a Saturday? The White Marsh area is home to several restaurants serving local favorites, such as oysters on the half shell and Maryland crabcakes, as well as classic American fares, like hamburgers and hot dogs. Whether you want to sit indoors or out, need to eat quickly, or want to enjoy a leisurely meal, these local eateries are sure to have what you’re looking for.

RED BRICK STATION RESTAURANT AND BREW CLUB

Visit the Red Brick Station, a local favorite, for American pub fare and English-style beer. If you’re in the mood for a light lunch, try the Bay Salad, which features lump crab meat and steamed shrimp over a bed of greens. For something a little more filling, order the Chesapeake Club, a triple-decker sandwich on toasted white bread. Visit on Mondays for half-priced burgers or on Tuesdays for dollar beer. Red Brick is open seven days a week and its hours vary daily, so check the website before you go. If you’d like to make a reservation, call or book through its website.

DOUBLE T DINER

Enjoy home-cooked meals at the Double T Diner in White Marsh. This 1950s-style restaurant serves a variety of salads, sandwiches, pastas, and more. The breakfast menu, which is available all day, is extensive and features everything from waffles and pancakes to omelets and breakfast wraps. The lunch and dinner menus are also substantial, containing dishes such as poached salmon, chicken divan, and pasta primavera. For lighter fare, try a grilled chicken breast, egg white scramble, or tuna salad. The Double T Diner is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

LIB’S GRILL

Check out Lib’s Grill in nearby Perry Hall, only about a 10-minute drive from White Marsh. This neighborhood grill and raw bar features a variety of salads, sandwiches, steaks, and seafood on its menu. Enjoy classic dishes like Maryland crabcakes and rib-eye steaks, or try something a little different like Lib’s signature lobster mac and cheese or its grilled salmon BLT. The raw bar serves oysters on the half shell, steamed clams, and shrimp cocktail. Lib’s Grill opens for lunch at 11 a.m. on the weekdays and at 10 a.m. for lunch and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations are accepted.

LIBERATORE’S RISTORANTE

Enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in a casual setting at Liberatore’s Ristorante in nearby Perry Hall. For a light, refreshing lunch, try the Endless Summer Salad, which contains mixed greens, red apples, oranges, strawberries, and candied walnuts topped with a raspberry vinaigrette. For a more filling option, consider the crab ravioli or the fettuccine Alfredo. Indoor and outdoor dining are both available as is curbside pickup. Liberatore’s opens for lunch at 11 a.m. daily.

THE CURIOUS OYSTER

In the mood for something a little different? Give the Curious Oyster, a seafood house that serves a host of crab, lobster, scallop, and shrimp dishes, a try. The lunch menu features items such as lobster rolls, shrimp tacos, and crabcakes. While seafood items make up most of the lunch menu, burgers and Maryland Street corn are also served midday. The Curious Oyster is located in Nottingham, just five minutes from White Marsh, and opens for lunch at 11 a.m. daily. If you’re ever in the mood for brunch, visit on a Saturday or a Sunday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

CHARCOAL STYLE

Stop in at Charcoal Style, a local food stand serving traditional American fares like hot dogs, hamburgers, and french fries. Enjoy generous servings and unique items like the Bull Dog, a hotdog-like treat that features beef, sausage, and cheese on a white bread roll. The Triple Threat, a beef, turkey, sausage, and cheese sandwich on a sub roll, is another unique menu option. If you’re looking for something a little more ordinary, try the chicken fingers or the pork barbecue sandwich. Charcoal Style opens for lunch at 11 a.m. daily, and its covered deck is a good spot to get some fresh air on your next lunch break.

BOMBAY NIGHTS

Experience authentic Indian cuisine at Bombay Nights in Perry Hall. A vegetarian menu is available and features items such as saag paneer, a cooked spinach dish served with homemade cheese, spices, and herbs. If you’re in the mood for seafood, try the shrimp jalfreji, a shrimp dish cooked in butter and served with fresh vegetables. Chicken and lamb menus are available, and a lunch buffet is served daily. Mughal Biryanis, a traditional Indian rice dish, is also on the menu. Bombay Nights opens for lunch at 10 a.m. every day.

BUBBA’S SHRIMP SHACK

Enjoy fresh seafood and made-from-scratch sides at Bubba’s Shrimp Shack in nearby Hayes. Bubba’s fish and shrimp baskets are popular menu items and are served with hush puppies and a choice of two sides. Shrimp and fish sandwiches, tacos, and salads are also on the menu. Most meals can be ordered fried or grilled, and all are served with Bubba’s signature sauce. If you’re out exploring White Marsh with your kids and need a lunch break, the children’s menu provides plenty of choices, including chicken fingers for the little ones who don’t care for seafood. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available, and Bubba’s opens at 11 a.m. daily for lunch.
