2022 CHEVY TRAVERSE INTERIOR FEATURES

INTERIOR DIMENSIONS

The cabin of the Traverse has plenty of room for passengers and cargo. You can seat up to eight people, seven if you opt for the second-row captain’s chairs. That’s plenty of room to take the family on your next weekend getaway or the soccer team to practice. No matter who you take along, they’ll have plenty of space to stretch out.

You have 41.3 inches of headroom, 41 inches of legroom, and 62.2 inches of shoulder room in the front row. Second-row headroom drops slightly to 40 inches, while the legroom dips to 38.4 inches, and the shoulder room widens to 62.2 inches. Finally, the third row provides 38.2 inches of headroom, 33.5 inches of legroom, and 57.5 inches of shoulder room, making it suitable for adults, even on longer trips.

With fold-flat seating in the second and third rows, you have multiple cargo configurations. You have 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats. Folding the third row flat, you get 57.8 cubic feet of the cargo area. The third-row split-folds accommodate different sizes of cargo as well. When you fold the second and third rows flat, you open up a cavernous 98.2 cubic feet of space.

STANDARD INTERIOR COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE FEATURES

Chevy offers a wide variety of standard interior features to please the whole family. One of the biggest perks is the Smart Slide seating. With Smart Slide, you can tilt, slide, and fold the second and third row of seats with the push of a button. You can even tilt the second row with a rear-facing child seat installed. These seats fold flat into the floor of your Traverse. However, you can use that space beneath the floor with the seats upright for additional storage.

You also have other hidden storage areas. You’ll find them in the center console, the cargo area, and within the armrests in the rear seats. Your seats provide ergonomic comfort, and premium cloth upholstery offers a beautiful finish. Plus, when you exit the vehicle, Chevy’s rear seat reminder system alerts you if you forgot a person or package in the back.

Technology features include a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot. You can connect multiple devices, and the hotspot has a range of up to 50 feet. The in-vehicle tech runs through the 7-inch touch screen powered by the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. 

Your infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto pre-loaded, enabling you to sync your cellphones and tablets. Now you can operate your smartphone using simple voice commands. Its never been easier or more convenient to reply to texts, check your email, and access your favorite apps. In addition, you get the rear camera system that projects a live view to your touchscreen from behind your Traverse, enabling you to back up with confidence.

AVAILABLE INTERIOR UPGRADES

As you would expect, moving up in trim levels adds additional features. Many of these features can be added as stand-alone upgrades or included as part of an option package. For example, heated front seats and heated second-row seats  — provided you opt for the captain’s chairs configuration  — offer comfort on those cold mornings. 

A leather-wrapped heated steering wheel delivers a level of refinement drivers enjoy. Your driver’s seat comes standard with manual operation. However, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support comes standard on the top tiers and is available as an upgrade. In addition, shoppers can add premium leather upholstery in various colors and styles for the ultimate in luxurious comfort.

You can upgrade to an 8-inch touch screen on the lower trims, although the top trims come with this feature standard. In addition to your cellphone connectivity, you also have access to the optional wireless charging pad and power panoramic moonroof.

DRIVER-ASSIST TECHNOLOGY

Traverse owners enjoy the standard suite of driver-assist systems known as Chevy Safety Assist. This suite includes a forward collision alert which uses radar to scan the road ahead for obstacles and alert you. In addition, the automatic emergency braking system engages if you react slowly, providing you with emergency brake support. 

Chevy’s lane keep assist with lane-departure warning uses cameras to track your Traverse when traveling within marked lanes. When the system detects an unintentional drift, you receive an alert. If you don’t respond to the alerts, the system can provide gentle steering correction to help return you to your lane.

In addition to these systems, you also have the option to add a lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert. This system uses optical sensors to scan your Traverse SUV’s blind spots, alerting you when a vehicle enters one. If you attempt to change lanes with a vehicle present, the lane-keep assist system will activate to help you avoid a collision. An optional rear cross-traffic alert system uses similar technology to alert you when a vehicle approaches from either side while you back up. You can also add the rear park-assist system. This system adds dynamic grid lines to your rear camera view and audio alerts as you back toward a stationary object.
