This engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It offers the same rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive systems as the base engine.

The other two engines offer maximum power and efficiency. A 6.2-liter V-8 engine, standard on the sporty ZR2 trim, delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and connects to a four-wheel-drive system. An available Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine provides 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine, which pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission, offers the best fuel economy in the Silverado lineup. With rear-wheel drive, it gets an EPA-estimated 31 mpg highway and 23 mpg city, while four-wheel-drive versions get an estimated 26 mpg highway and 22 mpg city.

TRIM LEVELS

In 2022, Chevrolet introduced an all-new model to the Silverado lineup: the ZR2, a powerful truck with impressive off-roading capabilities. Slotted between the High Country and LTZ trims, the ZR2 is expected to return in 2023 with minor updates.
