With over 3,000 miles of coastline, Maryland is a destination for ocean vibes and incredible landscapes. However, it also has beautiful inland views, from farmlands and lakes to rolling hills and vineyards. With all of this natural beauty available in the Old Line State, it’s no wonder we struggled to narrow down our list of restaurants with the most scenic views in Maryland.

Whether you want to sip a cocktail on a marina while enjoying local seafood or relax at an outdoor picnic with a burger and beer, you’ll find yourself enjoying some of the east coast’s best views here in Maryland. Since we’re covering the whole state, be sure to get behind the wheel of your new car and visit as many as possible. You could even plan an entire road trip to see these memorable dining spots. We’re proud to share this list, and we’d love to hear from you if we missed your favorite local restaurant.

BRIDGES RESTAURANT

The Bridges Restaurant in Grasonville boasts some of the best views of the Kent Narrows, right on the Chesapeake Bay. Diners remark on its outstanding food and service, matched by the fantastic water views and atmosphere. It was recently named one of the “100 Most Scenic Restaurants in America” and voted “Best View on the Eastern Shore” and “Best Dock & Dine” on OpenTable. With its expansive dock and outdoor seating, you can quickly see why it tops our list of restaurants with the most scenic views in Maryland.

THE COMUS INN

Nestled at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain in Montgomery County, the Comus Inn offers panoramic views of the nearby mountains. The landscape is sweeping, with views of rolling hills and pastures, and brings a historic charm to the venue. Diners can book brunch and dinner in the indoor Sammy D’s dining room, or you can grab an outdoor table on a first-come, first-serve policy. They also allow visitors to bring their own blankets, tables, and chairs, so you can set up on the vast lawn and enjoy the view.

RUDDY DUCK (FOR BRUNCH)

The Ruddy Duck Seafood & Alehouse is located on the remote point of Piney Point, Maryland. Its views are fantastic because it’s surrounded by water, with the Potomac River on one side and St. Mary’s River on the other. To capitalize on the fun at this island getaway, consider booking a stay at the Island Inn & Suites, where you can relax and enjoy the incredible views from your private balcony. In addition, the Ruddy Duck is famous for sunset and brunch, so you can enjoy multiple meals there while soaking up the scenery.

CHESAPEAKE INN RESTAURANT AND MARINA

Located centrally on the water in historic Chesapeake City, the Chesapeake Inn Restaurant and Marina has something for everyone. The main attraction, of course, is the large deck which overlooks the marina and offers casual dining to visitors. Enjoy Maryland crab and oysters while you sip a beer at one of the outside tables. Inside, there’s an expansive ballroom for fine dining and events. They also host holiday and weekend buffets, and their calendar showcases special upcoming activities, so book ahead to avoid disappointment.

MACKY’S BAYSIDE BAR & GRILLE

Macky’s Bayside Bar & Grille is a seasonal restaurant in Ocean City that offers beachfront dining in a fun and casual atmosphere. There are dozens of tables spread along their sandy shore, where they serve up everything from buffalo shrimp to lobster mac & cheese. In addition, Macky’s becomes a destination for local nightlife, with themed parties throughout the week. So take the family along for a delicious meal, organize a girls’ night out, or book the restaurant for your next special event.

THE 13TH FLOOR

If luxury is your game, you’ll find it on the 13th floor atop the historic Belvedere Hotel in Baltimore. Head to this venue for their Saturday and Sunday brunch, and don’t skimp on the mimosas, beignets, and their full brunch menu. The Belvedere was built in 1903 and was Baltimore’s first luxury hotel. There’s plenty to see (and we don’t just mean the view of Baltimore) as you make your way to the 13th floor, and the venue hosts many special events, such as weddings and anniversaries.

ISLAND VIEW WATERFRONT

For something laid-back and relaxed, why not visit Island View Waterfront Cafe on the Chesapeake Bay? The name says it all – with a great view of the Chesapeake, this unassuming cafe offers visitors jaw-dropping scenery alongside casual dining fare. On their deck, you’ll find comfortable and casual tables that welcome the whole family to enjoy crab cakes and other local favorites. You can even rent kayaks after your meal to do a little extra exploration of the bay.

BO BROOKS CRAB HOUSE

If you’re planning a trip to Baltimore’s harbor, you’ll find no shortage of restaurants with fantastic food and views to match. We recommend visiting Bo Brooks Crab House, a mom-and-pop restaurant on Lighthouse Point, serving steamed crab, craft beer, and other Maryland specialties. With current capacity restrictions, they’re only seating outside, so every spot at this laid-back establishment will have a view of the waterfront and Patapsco River.

TAKE THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED
