With many music venues, Maryland is an excellent place to find outstanding musical performances and concerts. If you’re in the area this season, be sure to check out some of these fantastic acts coming to Maryland in April, May and June. Whether you’re interested in pop, rock, or metal, there’s sure to be a musical act this season that’s right for you.

THE TEMPTATIONS

The Temptations are a classic American vocal group from Detroit, Michigan. Come listen to them perform some of their greatest hits, such as “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” and “I Wish It Would Rain.” The Temptations perform at the Lyric theater in Baltimore on Friday, April 15. Another vocal group, The Four Tops, will also perform that night.

MODEST MOUSE

Modest Mouse is an American Indie Rock band from Portland, Oregon. Well known for their hit single “Float On,” they are currently touring with a combination of old favorites and songs from their latest album, The Golden Casket. Modest Mouse is in Maryland on Monday, April 18 at 8 p.m. at Rams Head Live in Baltimore.

LEA SALONGA

Broadway legend Lea Salonga comes to the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda on Saturday, April 23. Salonga is known for many stage roles, including Eponine from Les Miserables, Kim from Miss Saigon, and is the singing voice for two Disney Princesses, Jasmine and Mulan. 

TODRICK HALL

Todrick Hall is a singer, performer and internet personality. He gained national attention as a participant on the reality TV series “American Idol” then grew his following on his popular YouTube channel. Todrick performs in Baltimore at the Rams Head Live on Tuesday, April 26. 

SUM 41 AND SIMPLE PLAN

Pop-punk bands Sum 41 and Simple Plan join together for their Blame Canada 2022 tour and arrive in Maryland at the Fillmore Silver Spring on Wednesday, May 4. These two Canadian groups join together to perform some of their well-known hits, such as “Welcome To My Life,” “Untitled,” “In Too Deep,” and “We’re All to Blame.” 

TORI AMOS

Pianist and Singer-songwriter Tori Amos is coming to Maryland to perform some of her well-known songs. Recipient of the George Peabody medal for outstanding contributions to music, her work includes popular songs such as “Crucify,” “Caught Like a Sneeze,” and “Cornflake Girl.” Tori Amos performs in National Harbor on May 8 at The Theater at MGM Harbor. 

CHICAGO

Classic jazz rock group Chicago comes to Maryland for one night at the MECU Pavillion in Baltimore. This band was granted a lifetime achievement award by the Grammys, and is known for many catchy songs, including “Make Me Smile,” “25 or 6 to 4”, and “Hard To Say I’m Sorry.” They perform on Friday, May 13.

AJR

Indie pop trio AJR continues their North American tour at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia on Saturday, May 14. Brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met reached the number one slot on Billboard’s top 100 list for their single “Bang.” They’re accompanied by popular singer-songwriter Gayle, who is known for her hit song “ABCDEFU.”

FOO FIGHTERS

Classic rock group the Foo Fighters will perform for two days on May 16 and 18 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia. Fresh from their new film, Studio 666, they’re going on an international tour, playing songs from their ten albums. Some of their hit singles include “Everlong,” “Learn To Fly,” “My Hero,” and “Skin and Bones.”

KT TUNSTALL

KT Tunstall is a Scottish singer-songwriter and musician with six studio albums to her name. A Grammy nominated artist, some of her hit songs include “Suddenly I See,” “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree,” and “Hold On.” She performs in a 21+ event at Rams Head On Stage in Anapolis on Thursday, May 19.

THE LUMINEERS

The Lumineers are a folk-rock band from Denver, Colorado. Their first self-titled album, including hit song “Ho Hey,” which hit triple platinum in the U.S. and Canada. They play on Wednesday, May 25 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia.

MARYLAND DEATHFEST

Maryland Deathfest is a four-day metal music festival that takes place in four separate venues in Baltimore. Concerts occur at Rams Head Live, Edison Lot, Baltimore Soundstage and Power Plant Live. Some of the bands participating include Acid Witch, Onslaught, Novembers Doom, and Zombie Assault. The festival runs from May 26–29.

COLDPLAY

British rock group Coldplay is one of the greatest selling musical acts of all time. They are multiple-time Grammy winners and have repeatedly created songs that enter the Billboard top 100 list, including “Yellow,” “Viva la Vida,” and “Clocks.” Coldplay performs at the FedExField in Landover on Wednesday, June 1.

HALSEY

Two-time Grammy award winner and pop icon Halsey continues her Love and Power tour at the Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, Maryland on Wednesday, June 8. Known for her distinct singing voice, Halsey is touring for her new album “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power,” which features a darker, more industrial sound than her previous work. Other songs she’s known for include “Gasoline,” “Bad at Love,” Graveyard,” and “Closer,” which is her collaboration with producer act, the Chainsmokers.

THE MASKED SINGER

Musical reality television show The Masked Singer brings their iconic costumes and celebrity singers on tour for this live concert event. It features popular characters from the show, exciting new performances made exclusively for the tour and a new celebrity guest unmasked in each city. The performance takes place Wednesday, June 22 at the Lyric theater in Baltimore.
