Koons White Marsh Chevrolet

As the word implies, an infotainment system combines access to information and entertainment through a center console, in-dash touchscreen. Most touchscreens occupy the same in-dash location as old school car radios once did. Here are some infotainment system features that our White Marsh, MD Koons White Marsh Chevrolet team really loves.

Up-to-Date, Technicolor Navigation

Aftermarket GPS units are still widely used among drivers, but most OEM infotainment systems have their own built-in navigation system. Many systems can also integrate with your smartphone, making navigation apps on your phone available via the in-dash infotainment platform. Infotainment system navigation typically entails vibrant, full-color graphics, detailed turn-by-turn directions, and, in some cases, hands-free access.

Total Control From the Wheel

An infotainment system is often one of the main attractions in a vehicle’s cockpit. Serving as a driver’s command system, an infotainment system touchscreen makes it easy to control the radio, climate, lighting, and other in-vehicle amenities. As mentioned above, most infotainment touchscreens have a central position in-dash, but some sit atop the dash and directly right of the steering wheel.

The Chevrolet Bolt is a solid model electric vehicle with one of the highest driving ranges available. The steering of this hatchback is tight and responds quickly while the single electric motor gets you from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. The Chevy Bolt has a spacious interior and is popular as a commuting vehicle. Check out some of its best features to see if it is the right electric car for you.

LONG RANGE BATTERY

One of the best features of the Chevy Bolt EV is the range of charge in its 66-kWh battery pack. A full charge can last you up to an EPA-estimated 259 miles. This means you can go farther than most EVs without having to worry about finding a charging station. The life of the battery itself varies depending on a variety of factors but Chevy provides an eight-year or 100,000-mile warranty for the battery.

CHARGING OPTIONS

Keeping your vehicle charged before you go and while you are traveling is simple and easy. There are two at-home options to choose from including a 120-volt portable charger and a 240-volt charging unit. The 120-volt simply plugs into any 3-pronged outlet and will give you 4 miles of battery range per hour. This would be a convenient simple option for overnight charging. The 240-volt setup gives you 25 miles of range for every hour charged.

This unit can be professionally installed in your home for easy access to fast charging. If you are running low during the day, simply find a public charging station to top up the battery. These EV fast-charging stations will provide 100 miles of range in just 30 minutes of charging time.

ENERGY ASSISTANCE

The myChevrolet mobile app with Energy Assist keeps you in touch with your car’s battery charge level so you will know just when your next charge needs to be. It will also guide you to the closest charging station and even updates you if the charging unit is currently available, if it is working, and if it is the correct charger for your vehicle. With over 40,000 places to plug in, the myChevrolet app will direct you to the one that is on your route or redirect you to a better option if weather or road conditions change. You can even link your EVgo account and pay for your charging directly through the app.

TECHNOLOGY

The Chevy Bolt EV is not just advanced in its energy efficiency but also in its built-in technology. You will have access to an 8-inch touchscreen digital display screen that will notify you of everything you need to know while driving. You can customize how your information is shown on the screen and use the steering wheel controls to switch through the options of seeing your trip mileage, average speed, and tire pressure.

Your driving habits, weather, and road conditions will all be factored into the estimated distance you will be able to drive on your current battery and will be displayed directly on the screen. The other side of technology that the Chevy bolt offers is its entertainment compatibility. You can connect with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot.

INTERIOR

Driving an electric vehicle does not mean you have to drive alone. The Chevy Bolt EV has a roomy interior that comfortably fits up to five people. The hatchback has a false cargo floor to provide extra hidden storage and rear seats that fold completely flat to maximize your cargo hold. Throughout the interior are also conveniently located storage spaces such as door compartments and center consoles to hold your smaller items.

SAFETY FEATURES

The Chevy Bolt EV is constantly watching out for your safety with its advanced technology. A variety of features to monitor activity surrounding the vehicle help to keep you stay alert to potential dangers. The forward collision alert will notify you if there is an impending front-end collision or if you are following a vehicle too closely. The front pedestrian braking and automatic emergency braking will work to reduce the severity of a front-end collision by slowing the vehicle or put on emergency brakes.

Lane assist and lane departure will provide a slight adjustment to your steering or warning alert to keep you safely in your lane. A rear camera, cross-traffic alert, blind side alert, park assist, and surround vision are all available to guide you through a safe ride.

TRIMS

The Chevrolet Bolt EV is available in two trims the LT and the Premier. Both trims offer almost all of the same features with some extras standard in the Premier that are optional add-ons in the LT. The Premier comes with the DC Fast Charging capability built-in, but you can easily add it to the LT model.

The Premier also comes standard with the surround-view cameras, heated seats, false cargo floor, leather-appointed seats, and rear center armrest. Both trims come with the same 12-volt battery, 120-volt portable charging cord, keyless start, and the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system. A Comfort and Convenience Package is available with the LT that provides heated driver and passenger seats, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and auto-dimming inside rearview mirror.

THE BENEFITS OF AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE

Chevrolet’s all-electric vehicle provide you with peace of mind knowing you are emitting zero tailpipe emissions into the environment, possible state tax incentives to save you money, and complete care by Chevy for your battery and specific electric drive components. You can avoid the pesky upkeep that typically comes with a gas engine car such as oil changes, belt replacements, and transmission fluid flushes.

This will potentially save you thousands of dollars compared to running a traditional gas-powered vehicle. The Chevrolet Bolt EV is an excellent choice for a long-range electric vehicle that has the power to get you going and keep you going strong.

When shopping for a new or used SUV, there are many excellent options to consider. Two of the best SUVs on the market are the Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Trailblazer. Both SUVs provide many wonderful benefits for owners, so it’s important to understand the differences between the two in order to determine which SUV is the right choice for you.

CHEVROLET TAHOE VS. CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER PRICING

While both the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Trailblazer are affordably priced within their class, pricing is one area where you will find a distinct difference between the two. As a full-size SUV, the Tahoe retails for an MSRP starting at $51,300. The Trailblazer, a subcompact crossover SUV, is available for a starting MSRP of only $27,000 for buyers interested in a lower price bracket for their SUV.

CHEVROLET TAHOE VS. CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER CARGO CAPACITY

Cargo capacity is often a primary concern when comparing your options during a search for a new or used SUV. The good news is that whether you prefer a Trailblazer or a Tahoe, both come with excellent storage capabilities for their class. The smaller Trailblazer features standard storage of 25.3 cubic feet when all of the passenger seats remain up. If you need additional storage, you can fold down the back row of seating to expand your capacity to 54.4 cubic feet of cargo capacity.

The Tahoe is the perfect selection if you’re looking for an SUV with substantial cargo capacity to help you carry even the biggest of loads. It begins with 25.5 ft of cargo space with all of the seats folded up and a full load of passengers. If you are looking to maximize your cargo capacity, you can fold down both rows and enjoy up to 122.9 ft of storage space, making your next move a breeze.

With two rows of individually folding seating in the Tahoe, you can even mix and match to meet your needs. By only folding down the back row, you maintain passenger capacity for you and up to four passengers while still enjoying 72.6 cubic feet of cargo space. Loading up the Tahoe for a family trip couldn’t be easier.

CHEVROLET TAHOE VS. CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER TOWING AND PAYLOAD CAPACITY

When shopping for an SUV, the ability to tow and carry large loads is often a primary consideration for buyers. Both the Trailblazer and the Tahoe are capable of towing when needed, though their capacities differ.

Despite being the smaller of the two options, the Trailblazer can still get the job done for a variety of towing and moving needs. With an optional upgrade, the Trailblazer can tow up to 1,000 pounds behind it. This allows you to hook up a trailer full of belongings or transport smaller vehicles like a personal watercraft or all-terrain vehicle. Inside your Trailblazer, you can load up to a 1,134 pounds of cargo.

If you know that you’re interested in doing some hauling with your SUV, then the Tahoe might be the best option for you. With a towing capacity of up to 8,400 pounds, it can get the job done in a wide range of towing situations. In addition to large storage trailers, the Tahoe can be used to tow larger boats or mobile campers. Its interior payload capacity also offers increased performance, with a payload limit of 1,746 pounds.

CHEVROLET TAHOE VS. CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER PERFORMANCE

As a subcompact SUV, the Chevy Trailblazer provides a perfect blend of performance and efficiency. Its three-cylinder engine can produce 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. It’s powered by an engine that operates with premium efficiency, getting 29 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. Its gas tank has a capacity of 13.2 gallons.

As a larger SUV with more powerful towing capacities, the Chevy Tahoe has a powered up engine underneath the hood. It features an eight-cylinder engine that generates 355 horsepower and an incredible 383 pound-feet of torque. That extra power does come with a decrease in fuel efficiency, though. The Tahoe gets 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. It comes with a sizable 24-gallon gas tank to minimize your stops at the gas station to refill.

CHEVROLET TAHOE VS. CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER SEATING

Your seating needs is another important consideration when choosing between the Chevrolet Tahoe and the Chevrolet Trailblazer. As a subcompact SUV, the trailblazer provides comfortable seating for five. It’s the perfect option for individual drivers or those with smaller families.

If you have a large family or are routinely driving multiple passengers at once, then the Chevrolet Tahoe might be the SUV for you. It provides a more functional option than a van while still allowing you to carry the entire family where they need to go. It’s also a great SUV to load up for a road trip. With seating for up to nine, there’s simply no better way to hit the road with a large group than inside of a Chevy Tahoe.

PERKS OF THE CHEVROLET TAHOE AND CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER

Many of the best features of Chevrolet cars and SUVs are available in both the Chevrolet Tahoe and the Chevrolet Trailblazer. Excellent features that both SUVs have to offer include:

  • A rear traffic camera and warning sensors to help you back into and out of spaces safely.
  • Easy smartphone integration for safer and easier use when driving.
  • Highway driving warnings to help you maintain safe distances and change lanes without incident.
  • Front pedestrian braking to automatically slow down your SUV when a pedestrian crosses your path in order to avoid accidents on the road.

If you’re in the market for a new or used SUV, the experts at Koons White Marsh Chevrolet can help you out. Get in touch with us today to learn how our professional staff can pair you with the right SUV. They’ll discuss what you’re looking for and your budget, then help you find and test drive options in order to pick out the ideal fit for you.

BOTTOMS UP BAGELS

2713 Greenmount Ave. in Baltimore

This small bagel shop prepares handmade and authentic New Jersey-style bagels that are boiled. Owners Joan Kanner and Michelle Bond began Bottoms Up Bagels in 2015 after spending several years selling their food all over town. After looking for a more permanent location for three years, they settled on this brick-and-mortar storefront in June 2020. You can still pick up their bagels on Saturday mornings at Fells Point Farmers Market, which is just down the road from their location, as well as a half dozen local grocery stores and coffee shops.

The women strive to bring classic flavors to customers whether that includes their hand-rolled bagels, house-cured lox, or specialty cream cheeses. Popular bagel flavors include pumpernickel, Old Bay, and cinnamon raisin. For something heartier, order one of the sandwiches such as the Jersey Brekkie with a fried egg and Taylor ham, or the Loxed Up with house-cured salmon lox and green onion cream cheese.

GREG’S BAGELS

519 E. Belvedere Ave. in Baltimore

Located about 10 miles from White Marsh in Belvedere Square, this much-loved bagel shop recently reopened after its original owner Greg Novik passed away of cancer after 30 years of bagel making. This bagel shop, which opened in 1986, has a variety of bagel options and toppings. It serves more than a dozen vegetarian sandwiches, which come with your choice of bagel unless otherwise specified. ROLAND PARK BAGELS

500 W. Cold Spring Ln. in Baltimore

Serving bagels and sandwiches, Roland Park Bagels is a must-visit if you’re in the Baltimore area and looking for a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Its bagels are boiled and baked fresh daily and its vegan choices are clearly marked. Top your bagel with one of its specialty cream cheeses including strawberry, veggie, or cinnamon raisin. Order a breakfast or deli sandwich, which includes bagels and several different choices of protein, vegetables, and vegan cheeses. To wash down your bagel, try a drink from their espresso bar.

THB BAGELRY & DELI

3301 Boston St. Suite 106 in Baltimore

When four young Italian cousins, who grew up in the restaurant industry, tasted authentic bagels in a bagel shop in Towson, they wanted to bring that passion and love of food to their own customers. They opened their original location in Towson in 1999 and the second in Canton in 2001. They make their food from scratch daily using the finest ingredients, so their bagels are never frozen. Choose among more than a dozen bagel varieties including wheat everything, blueberry, garlic, cinnamon raisin, and plain twist. They also offer 10 different types of cream cheeses.

UBER BAGELS AND DELI

49 E. Padonia Road in Lutherville Timonium

Native New Yorker John Nocher complained for years about not being able to get a good bagel in Maryland, so in 2010 he opened a little bagel shop in Ocean City. He opened another Uber Bagels and Deli location in Severna Park in 2017 and this one in Lutherville Timonium in 2019. People come from all over to enjoy hearty and creative breakfast and lunch sandwiches prepared on bagels made from scratch.

Choose among more than a dozen varieties of bagels including rosemary sea salt, chocolate chip, and whole wheat everything. Flavored cream cheese options are also numerous and include garlic and herb, funfetti, sundried tomato, and honey walnut. For breakfast, try Harry’s Crabby Patty, which is an Old Bay bagel with egg, sausage, American cheese, and crab spread. For lunch, consider the Powerhouse, which has lettuce, tomato, avocado, sprouts, cucumber, Muenster cheese, and Parmesan dressing. You can also create your own sandwich and choose among dozens of deli meats, cheeses, and toppings.

THE YUMMERY

11565 Philadelphia Road

If you’re patient and only have a craving for bagels on Fridays, The Yummery is the place for you. Although it’s known more for its all-occasion custom cakes and cupcakes, this establishment serves fresh-baked bagels on Fridays until they sell out. Start your day off right with a plain, cheese, or everything bagel. For a little more protein, turn your bagel into a sausage, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich. You can also order made-to-order coffee drinks made with Zeke’s coffee.

If you are interested in making a change when it comes to your vehicle, then our staff at Koons White Marsh Chevrolet in White Marsh, MD is ready to help! Whether you are considering trading in your vehicle or refinancing we can answer the questions that you have.

If you want to trade in your vehicle, you can do so with a current loan or with a paid-off vehicle. Typically, people trade in their vehicle after it is paid off and use the trade-in rate toward another vehicle.

If you want to refinance your vehicle, then that means you’ll keep your vehicle for a longer time. This usually means that you get a lower interest rate as well. Therefore, your payments for your vehicle are also smaller. You may also have a longer bone after refinancing, but many people are fine with us because their monthly payments can be drastically lower.
