Baltimore offers an abundance of restaurants, bars, and lounges to explore, making it easy to spend ample nights on the town without finding those true local gems. If you’re tired of frequenting the same known establishments, we have some bold new suggestions. Baltimore has several distinctive spots where you can sip creative cocktails while immersing yourself in a truly original atmosphere. Try these outstanding cocktail destinations for your next night on the town.

THE ELK ROOM

Tucked away behind a nondescript black door, The Elk Room delivers the ultimate 1920s speakeasy vibe. The atmosphere alone is worth a visit, but the food and drinks get top marks as well. To maintain its exclusive vibe, The Elk Room has a limited capacity and admits guests on a first come, first served basis.

The cocktail menu reads like a timeline of the bar’s achievements since its opening five years ago. If you’re seeking intriguing one-of-a-kind options, you’ll find an abundance of them, many featuring ingredients you may never have associated with a cocktail before. Tomatillo, cape gooseberry, and the South American herb epazote are paired with cachaca and rum in the Love in a Cage cocktail. The Moon Dreams cocktail features the distinctive flavors of osmanthus and ube alongside pineapple, coconut, and vodka. You’ll find a kick of spice accompanies the Obsidian, which features chilis, pomegranate, chicory, sherry, and tequila.

These cocktails highlight only a fraction of the spirits available at The Elk Room. The full menu covers 15 pages, providing endless variety. The food is as distinctive as the drinks, with options such as truffled roasted chicken in a sherry white wine jus and passion fruit crepe souffle with pastry cream. Prepare for a truly decadent experience that’s well worth the wait to get in the door.

Location: 1010 Fleet St., Baltimore.

Hours: 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

THE BLUEBIRD

Named for a Charles Bukowski poem, The Bluebird’s distinctive literary theme is at once sophisticated and welcoming. The 11-page menu is complete with a prologue, table of contents, and full-page poem for each cocktail. Both food and drink here come from local, sustainable, or organic farms, producers, and distilleries when possible.

Fresh botanical flavors abound in the creative cocktails, which beckon you to go on an inspiring journey. Discover how the flavor of sweet peas balances with vodka and lime in The Goddess Strikes cocktail or experience the Seductive Dye featuring rhubarb liqueur with chocolate, oat cream, and rum. This is an establishment where you’re meant to sip and savor, drinking in the moment as much as the beverage.

The Bluebird also features a second bar downstairs. The Pub bills itself as a place “for lovers of American whiskey, cured meats, and classic literature.” If this describes you, you’ll adore the cozy atmosphere of this basement hideaway. The menu here is only slightly less verbose and no less intriguing. You can visit The Pub on only Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Location: 3600 Hickory Ave., Baltimore.

Hours: 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily.

THE BREWER’S ART

You’ll find The Brewer’s Art in a 20th-century townhouse nestled in the historic Mount Vernon district. Whether you want a table in a quiet corner of the basement or beside a bright window overlooking Charles Street, you’ll find plenty of comfortable places to settle in for a memorable evening.

The cocktail menu features several creative options, such as the Brewer’s Rendition featuring Baltimore Spirits Company’s Epoch Rye, bitters, sugar, and a splash of their Resurrection brew. For a truly sophisticated flavor, try the Ursa Major, made with Earl Grey infused rum, Jin Jiji Darjeeling, pineapple, lime, AGWA, and falernum syrup. If you enjoy brews as well as cocktails, you’ll adore the lineup of The Brewer’s Art draft beers, which includes the Resurrection Brown Ale, Beazly Golden Ale, Klassenerhalt Rye Lager, and more.

The Brewer’s Art also serves a vast menu of comfort food favorites including salted soft pretzels, mac and cheese, crispy pork belly, a generous sausage platter, and more. When you’re craving a warm atmosphere and a filling meal with your cocktail, this is the best place to be.

Location: 1106 N. Charles St., Baltimore.

Hours: 4 to 11 p.m. upstairs and 5 p.m. to midnight downstairs daily.

THE BYGONE

The Bygone bills itself as “Baltimore’s most elevated dining experience.” Situated at the top of the Four Seasons Hotel, this is the perfect place for a special event or celebration, such as Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere is filled with elegant delights, such as hand-blown Zalto wine glasses and custom Lenox china. Guests must come prepared to blend into the ambiance by adhering to The Bygone’s strict dress code, which requires a collared shirt for men and prohibits any sports jerseys, athleisure wear, and visible undergarments.

The cocktail menu illuminates each option in detail with a lengthy description of every drink accompanied by information on the base spirit, tasting notes, and glassware that you can expect with the beverage. By the time you order, you’ll be in the know, not only on the ingredients but also the detailed origins of your beverage.

The dinner menu boasts an exquisite selection of entrees, including a two-pound whole Maine lobster, half Amish chicken in black truffle butter, and New York Strip. Though the bar menu is pared down, it’s no less elegant, including duck breast, signature prime rib, Jail Island salmon, and more. The Bygone is an ideal selection when you want to make your cocktail hour the most memorable one yet.

Location: 400 International Drive, 29th Floor, Baltimore.

Hours: 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday and 5 p.m. to midnight Thursday to Saturday. Have you been to these hotspots? Do you know of any other outstanding cocktail destinations in Baltimore? Contact our team at Koons White Marsh Chevrolet and let us know. We love cultivating suggestions for our clients so we can point them in the right direction when they’re headed off the lot ready to celebrate their new vehicles.

Meet the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe. Finally, you can have a full-size SUV with refined character inside and out, impressive power, and the latest in-vehicle tech. Furthermore, you don’t have to pay luxury brand prices for the premium quality Tahoe delivers. Some buyers find it challenging to sort through Tahoe’s various trim levels and options. So, we had our SUV experts at Koons White Marsh Chevrolet break down the Tahoe’s features and highlight improvements from the previous model.

2023 CHEVROLET TAHOE EXTERIOR STYLE

We saw no significant changes to the Tahoe’s exterior for the 2023 models, but a few minor tweaks include a new grille with the brand name spelled in black capital letters, replacing the old bow tie emblem. Daytime running lights frame the new grille, and LED headlights are high and wide, tucked just beneath the outstretched carved hood to provide a bold front fascia as they light the way.

Along the sides, soft curves flare around the wheels, which run up to 22 inches in various colors and styles, depending on your Tahoe trim. The Tahoe Z71 off-road model features aggressive tires, while other trims use the traditional all-season varieties. A sharp crease stretches front to rear beneath the windows, and a new C-pillar that tilts forward creates an athletic profile that contrasts with the boxy appearance of most full-size SUVs.

Chevy offers three new exterior colors: Sterling Gray Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Silver Sage Metallic. Returning options include Auburn Metallic, Black, Dark Ash Metallic, Empire Beige Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Midnight Blue Metallic, and Summit White.

2023 CHEVROLET TAHOE INTERIOR COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE

Chevy makes GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system available on the Premier and High Country trims. Beyond this and some minor adjustments to the dash layout and controls, much of the 2023 Tahoe interior remains the same. The Tahoe can seat up to nine in its expansive interior across three rows of seats. The base Tahoe LS model comes standard with a front bench, but we don’t think you’ll find many built this way. Instead, you’ll likely find front bucket seats separated by a large center console with hidden storage.

You can choose between a second-row bench seat or captain’s chairs and another center console. The third row has 35 inches of legroom to seat three adult passengers. If you choose the bench seat option in the first two rows, you can fit nine people. However, we recommend the two/two/three seating configuration for maximum comfort. The lower trims come standard with premium cloth upholstery, and you can upgrade to leather on all except the base LS.

The Premium, High Country, and Z71 models feature interior styling, including trim-exclusive leather appointments, natural wood and metal appliques, and signature badging. Heated and ventilated front and second-row seats also come with these higher trim levels.

Tahoe owners enjoy impressive cargo capacity thanks to a configurable interior. The independent rear suspension allows for a low flat floor. As a result, you have 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. Folding down the third row expands that area to 72.6 cubic feet, and folding down both the second and third opens up a cavernous 122.9 cubic feet capacity.

2023 CHEVROLET TAHOE PERFORMANCE

We see the same three engines carry over from the 2022 model. Tahoe’s base engine, a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V-8 with dynamic fuel management technology, comes standard on the LS, LT, RST, Z71, and Premier models. Chevy pairs this engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission. As a result, this powertrain produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and it tows up to 8,400 pounds when properly equipped. In addition, the EPA-estimated 20 mpg highway rating delivers economical performance.

A 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V-8 engine paired with the same 10-speed automatic comes standard on the High Country and is optional on the RST, Z71, and Premier trims. This powertrain produces an impressive 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and it can tow 8,300 pounds. Even with the additional power output, this engine still delivers 20 mpg driving on the highway.

The third option, a Duramax 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, provides the perfect balance of power and economy. You can choose this engine on the LS, LT, RST, Premier, and High Country models to enjoy 277 horsepower, 460 lb-ft of torque, and an 8,200-pound tow rating. Plus, you’ll get 28 mpg on highway driving.

Tahoe Z71 models feature an adaptive suspension system as standard, which enables you to raise the height of your Tahoe to clear off-road obstacles and lower it to improve aerodynamics. Upper trims also come with a magnetic ride control system that uses magnetized liquid in the Tahoe’s dampers to smooth out imperfections in the road.

2023 CHEVROLET TAHOE IN-VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY

An 8-inch touch screen comes standard in the LS model. However, the higher trims offer a 10.2-inch version. In addition, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Google Built-In, and Bluetooth technology are pre-installed on every Tahoe to enable hands-free calls, text replies, music streaming, and more, all with simple, intuitive voice commands.

You can opt for the rear seat theater system with two 12.6-inch LCD touch-screen displays with Wi-Fi connectivity. Your rear passengers can stream movies, play games, and more. The screens can stream content together or separately, allowing individual entertainment.

CHEVY SAFETY ASSIST

Every Tahoe model comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist — a suite of driver-assist technologies to make your drive safer. The suite includes forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, and IntelliBeam auto high-beam assist. Optional driver-assist systems include adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert.

American muscle cars live on proudly in the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro. Since its inception in 1967, we have seen the Camaro evolve through six generations. You can still see the Camaro’s iconic heritage in its exterior design and the throaty growl of its engine.

With its signature style and power, you now get the latest in-vehicle technology and premium comfort rivaling any coupe in the Camaro’s class. If you’re looking for an exciting ride in a stylish package, there’s a Camaro trim to suit any taste. We had our vehicle experts break down the various trim levels below to help you choose which model fits you best.

2023 CAMARO 1LS

The base model Camaro 1LS has a starting MSRP of $27,195 and has some great features. First, you get a 275 horsepower 2.0-liter engine that produces 295 lb-ft of torque. If you’re someone who wants to feel connected to their car, Chevrolet has paired this engine with a six-speed manual transmission.

Your 1LS rolls on 18-inch five-split-spoke silver-painted aluminum wheels wrapped in all-season blackwall tires. The 1LS has body-colored power side-view mirrors, LED daytime running lamps, and access to an expansive array of exterior package options. Inside, you have a six-speaker audio system and a 7-inch touch screen that powers your infotainment with systems such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Premium cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and a flat-bottom steering wheel add comfort to the cabin. You also have power windows and doors and a wide variety of available upgrades.

2023 CAMARO 1LT

The Camaro 1LT trim starts at an MSRP of $27,695 , and with the modest bump in price comes a similar rise in features. Mechanically, the 1LT has the same basic powertrain but offers a few upgradeable extras for you to choose from, such as an eight or ten-speed automatic transmission, red-painted brake calipers, and a lowering suspension upgrade system.

Minor exterior differences include the 18-inch alloy wheels’ five-solid-spoke structure. You can also add various design and performance packages, such as the RS. This package adds 20-inch alloy wheels, signature LED lighting, an RS-specific front grille, and dark tint taillights.

Inside the 1LT, you upgrade from a four-way manual adjusting driver’s seat to a six-way power-adjustable version. You can also add various interior packages to elevate your comfort and the car’s technology.

2023 CAMARO 2LT

Moving to the Camaro 2LT and a starting MSRP of $29,695, the gap in features widens. You again find the same standard mechanical operations, but you can choose a 3.6-liter V-6 engine capable of producing 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque. Inside, you get the dual-zone climate control system, heated and ventilated front seats, and even more optional equipment, such as RECARO front bucket sport seats.

2023 CAMARO 3LT

Chevrolet’s 3LT trim, priced at $33,695, shares the same powertrain as the other LT models and the same V-6 option. However, you find upgrades including outside heated power mirrors that auto-dim and a memory function that allows two drivers to program their preferred side-view mirror and driver’s seat positions.

Other enhancements include an 8-inch touch screen, premium aluminum interior trim, a premium Bose audio system, and the Chevy Infotainment 3 system. Regular features include driver-assist technologies such as forward collision alert, lane change alert with side blind-spot alert, rear park assist, and a head-up display. A heated steering wheel, illuminated sill plates, a 24-color interior ambient lighting package, and a wireless charging pad are also standard.

2023 CAMARO 1SS

The SS lineup offers more power, and the 1SS model starts at only $40,695. Chevrolet’s 6.2-liter V-8 engine has variable valve timing, direct injection technology, and a six-speed manual transmission. This powertrain puts out 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque, and an engine cooling system keeps the temperature down. The performance suspension system delivers exceptional control through corners and the 3.73 rear axle ratio gives you the necessary traction. Brembo brakes on the rear allow you to stop safely and with control.

Your 1SS rolls on 20-inch bright five-spoke silver-painted aluminum wheels wrapped in summer-only tires. Dark tint taillights come standard, as do black bow tie emblems on the front and rear fascia and a rear stanchion spoiler.

2023 CAMARO 2SS

Chevrolet prices the Camaro 2SS at $45,695. It features the same engine and transmission as the 1SS model, but you get more available performance upgrades, such as yellow-painted Brembo brakes and an Adrenaline Red interior package. An aluminum interior trim comes standard, as does the Bose premium audio system and the Chevy Infotainment 3 Premium system with an 8-inch display. Other driver-assist systems include rear cross-traffic alert.

2023 CAMARO ZL1

Chevrolet’s top-tier Camaro ZL1 has an MSRP of $69,395 and the features you expect at that price point. For starters, you get a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine capable of an astounding 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of track-tearing torque. In addition, Chevrolet uses Brembo performance brakes on the front and rear to keep this beast under control.

A quad rear exhaust system provides the throaty growl as it outputs through stainless steel ports. The electronic limited-slip differential adds more traction for your straight-line acceleration. You also get Chevrolet’s magnetic ride control technology that monitors each wheel independently and adjusts vertical suspension by the millisecond to smooth out any imperfections in the road.

The ZL1 rolls on 20-inch Dark Graphite forged aluminum wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 summer-only tires. Exclusive to the ZL1 trim, the rear spoiler enhances performance and gives it an aggressive style.

Inside, you find alloy sport pedals, RECARO performance sport bucket seats, and a shift knob and steering wheel wrapped in a suede microfiber for enhanced grip and a refined appearance. At Koons White Marsh Chevrolet, we know what sports car enthusiasts want. That’s why we’re so excited about the 2023 Camaro. Maryland crab has a reputation for being some of the country’s best. While many local crab and seafood restaurants help keep that reputation alive, a few truly have a place at the top of the list. White Marsh is home to some incredible spots, but traveling a little further to other places in the state can guarantee insanely mouthwatering results. Here are some of our favorite Maryland restaurants known for their legendary crab dishes. We promise they’re worth the drive.

CRUISING CRAB

First on the list has to be our own Cruising Crab. Luckily, you won’t have to drive far to access this tasty spot. This mobile food-truck-style joint has all the classic menu items we Marylanders expect from our crab purveyors. The steamed crabs are simple and no fuss, and you can even order food from the company’s website that ships nationwide. This way, even if Cruising Crab isn’t just around the corner from you, you can still get the freshest local seafood right away. Be sure to try the steamed shrimp and shelled oysters, too.

Two brothers, Ross and Harrison Lockhart, started the food-truck-style crab house back in 2020. Since their start, they’ve remained committed to offering sustainable and fresh seafood to their customers. The brothers source their crabs fresh daily from local anglers, hoping to reduce the environmental impacts associated with unsustainable fishing practices. They hand sort all their crabs and prepare them fresh to order, making it easy to support both our oceans and your taste buds. Cruising Crab is open noon to 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

LOCUST POINT STEAMERS

Another great Maryland crab spot is Locust Point Steamers in Baltimore. This restaurant knows how to prepare excellent crab, and at less than 30 minutes away from White Marsh, it’s well worth the adventure. The restaurant serves hot steamed crabs all year long, and it has lots of other tasty menu options, too.

If you visit, be sure to try the Crab Fluff, a fried crab cake covered in a funnel-cake like batter and served with mustard. Those with an appetite and hungry friends can order “A Boh’t Load of Food” from the menu. It’s chock-full of steamed crabs, clams, mussels, scallops, lobster, shrimp, and more. The restaurant is family owned and managed, and you can taste the difference multiple generations of crab picking has on a crab shack.

L.P. Steamers has many accolades, and one visit makes it easy to see why. A favorite for locals and touring foodies alike, L.P.’s is a must stop on your Maryland crab journey. You can visit the spot 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

JIMMY CANTLER’S RIVERSIDE INN

Located in Annapolis, Maryland, Jimmy Cantler’s Riverside Inn, dubbed just Cantler’s for short, reminds us just how great crab can be. This waterfront restaurant and crab house serves anglers, locals, and visitors from its expansive menu of delicious seafood offerings. The inn serves famous Maryland blue crabs, crab cakes, lump crab imperial, and all other types of seafood. Dining here is truly a celebration of Chesapeake Bay heritage and authentic crab cooking. The restaurant’s founders, Jimmy and Linda Cantler, are originally from Maryland, and they prepare crab the way only a Marylander can.

The restaurant is open every day for lunch and dinner starting at 11 a.m. You can make reservations Monday through Thursday for large parties of over 25, but for most occasions, the restaurant is first come, first served. Be sure to get there early to get your hands on some of the freshest crab around. The Cantler’s expert handlers ensure they serve only the highest quality seafood to customers. Its hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

BLUE CRAB HOUSE

Head over to Street, Maryland, to try Blue Crab House. The restaurant specializes in preparing fresh seafood, soups, and salads for its customers, and its menu is packed full of fresh, salty goodness. Try the cream of crab soup, the crab pretzel, and the crab cake platter when you go. Blue Crab House purchases all of its crab locally to support sustainability, local angers, and freshness. You can see the difference in quality right away. There’s no mistaking the difference between a locally sourced crab and one from a national distributor.

Jimmy and Holly Marcin own Blue Crab House. The two stay involved throughout the process of bringing fresh crab menu items to their customers. From purchasing the crabs to serving them, Jimmy and Holly help every step of the way. Blue Crab House is only open seasonally, so be sure to check them out during the warmer months for an unforgettable meal. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

THE POINT CRAB HOUSE AND GRILL

Last on the list, though not last in our hearts, is The Point Crab House and Grill in Arnold, Maryland. This dockside spot lets you enjoy the salty sea breeze while eating some of the best crab Maryland has to offer. It’s located on Mill Creek Road on a secluded point that offers astounding views of the water. The restaurant’s chef, Bobby Jones, has created some truly delightful menu offerings for customers. The menu changes seasonally to ensure only the freshest ingredients go into each meal.

The Point Crab House and Grill is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The third-generation Chevrolet Colorado offers several exciting new features for the 2023 model year. A new exterior, redesigned interior, and updated powertrain lineup await you in this exceptional midsize pickup. If you’re in the market for a durable truck that can get you where you need to go in comfort and style, then look no further than the all-new Colorado. Here you can find out more about this truck’s 2023 trim levels.

ENGINE

The previous models of the Chevy Colorado offered three different engine options. The 2023 Colorado is only available with one engine in three variations, but it provides you with plenty of power. It has a 2.7-liter inline-four block with various outputs depending on the trim level that you select. In the WT and LT trims, the engine delivers 237 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque. If you choose the Z71 or Trail Boss trims, you get 301 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.

The ZR2 is at the top of the trim lineup, and its 2.7-liter high-output engine pumps out 310 hp and an impressive 430 lb-ft of torque. The maximum towing capacity for the Colorado is up to 7,700 lbs, which puts it at the top of the list for towing capacity capability in the midsize truck class. It’s not yet clear whether the powertrain will be paired with an eight-speed or 10-speed automatic transmission. Either way, the Colorado will offer smooth transitions between gears.

PERFORMANCE

The 2023 Colorado is a capable truck that performs well over every terrain. It comes configured with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The open-air differential helps the lower trims with traction, while the mid-level options feature a limited-slip differential. If you choose the ZR2 trim, you’ll have exceptional traction control thanks to the power-locking front and rear differentials. Although the gas mileage estimates haven’t been released for this truck yet, they’re expected to be similar to previous model years.

EXTERIOR

While this year’s Colorado only has a 5-ft bed crew cab, the other changes to the exterior make it an eye-catching pickup that you won’t want to miss. For example, the off-road capable ZR2 trim has 10.7 inches of ground clearance and 33-inch tires to ensure that you make it over even the trickiest obstacles. If this seems like overkill, you should check out the Trail Boss, which comes with 32-inch tires and a factory-installed lift kit. Other features on these two top-tier trims include wider fender flares, underbody skidplates, upgraded dampers, and rugged all-terrain tires.

Another slick feature that’s offered as an upgrade in all but the ZR2 trim, where it’s standard, is a new tailgate storage system. This tailgate has a 45-inch wide, 4-inch-deep compartment with a watertight lid. It features two cup holders and a measuring tape that’s incorporated into the edge of its surface. Once you have it, you won’t know how you ever lived without it.

INTERIOR

Because the all-new Chevy Colorado is only offered as a four-door crew cab, rear-seat passengers will have more room than in the previous extended cab versions. A new center console moves the shifter toward the passenger side of the cab, and the cup holders are now in front of the gear shifter instead of awkwardly placed on the opposite side of the shifter. An 8-inch digital color cluster display makes it easy to see important driver information. For the first time in its history, the Colorado will offer the option of a sunroof to help to brighten up the cabin.

Stay connected as you travel with a larger 11.3-inch infotainment screen that’s standard across the lineup. It lets you easily access your favorite apps, music, and maps due to the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration along with the ability to add Google Built-in services. Wireless charging is also now a standard feature, but don’t worry — you can still use USB ports in your truck if your phone requires it. A new steering wheel design makes for a more comfortable drive, and the mellow interior colors help you to stay calm and relaxed on the road.

SAFETY

Although the previous versions of the Colorado aimed to keep you and your passengers safe, you’ll be surprised to learn that even more safety features are available with the 2023 models. The standard safety tech that’s offered through the Chevy Safety Assist package includes automatic emergency braking to help you to stop faster when you need to, forward collision warning to alert you of objects in your path, and automatic high beams to simplify night driving. Additional standard driver-assist features include lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and front pedestrian detection.

You can add several upgraded safety features to your truck if you want to feel even safer behind the wheel, such as adaptive cruise control. This can adjust your speed so that you don’t have to hit the brakes when the car ahead of you slows down. Blind-spot monitoring is also available, which can help you see objects that you wouldn’t be able to otherwise. The surround-view parking camera, rear pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are additional optional features that you can add to your truck to improve your safety on the road.

The Chevrolet Equinox is one of the most sought-after compact crossovers on the market right now. Perhaps people purchase it due to its roomy interior or impressive infotainment system, but whatever the reason, it has made this crossover an important part of the Chevrolet lineage. The final week of production for the 2022 version will start on Aug. 19.

As much as we love the 2022 version, its production end means that the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox will be with us in a matter of months. Read on to find out what new features and trim levels the 2023 Chevy Equinox version will bring.

OVERVIEW

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is expected to be a refreshed take on the 2022 version, meaning there’s no redesign or major change planned until 2024, when Chevrolet aims to release the Equinox crossover with a new look.

To explain it better, we need to go back to the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, which received a facelift originally scheduled for the 2021 version. Due to the pandemic and the global microchip shortage, it was delayed and rescheduled for the current model. Most changes were made to the grille and exterior lighting.

Additionally, a sportier-looking model joined the lineup — the RS — which has a different front-end design, 19-inch wheels, and black exterior trim and upholstery. Chevrolet also made a meaningful change to the crossover’s engine and transmission so that all models now have a 170 horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. Every model uses front-wheel drive as standard, but you can opt for an all-wheel-drive (AWD) version. The available trim levels for this version are LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

The 2022 version also received the highest marks from the National Institute for Highway Safety and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.

As noted, the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox will be a carryover of the 2022 version, so most of those specifications, except for the engine, will stay the same. Also, it’s expected that an all-electric version will be available in fall 2023.

PRICING AND RUMORED RELEASE DATE

As one of the most popular vehicles on the market, the 2023 version of the Chevrolet Equinox is expected to maintain the same MSRP of $26,995 for the base model and $32,145 for the most expensive model. This is partly because Chevrolet wants customers to keep coming back and to keep an edge over the competition.

Regarding the release date, we know that Chevrolet started accepting orders for the 2023 Equinox in late June, and production is set to begin in late August. However, there’s yet to be an official statement from the company announcing the release date.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

As stated before, the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox uses a 170-horsepower, 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine; however, the 2023 version received a boost of 5 horsepower. In other words, the 2023 version will have an output of 175 horsepower, with the same six-speed automatic transmission. The torque remains the same, at 203 lb-ft.

The 2023 Equinox version is also coming with front-wheel drive (FWD) as standard, but customers can opt for AWD too. Regarding fuel economy, this version is estimated to have 26 mpg for city driving and 31 mpg on the highway for FWD models, and 25 mpg and 30 mpg, respectively, for AWD models.

INTERIOR

As with most vehicles, the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox’s interior comfort and styling will depend on the trim level you choose. For example, the LS and LT trim levels come with cloth upholstery, while the RS and Premier trims use perforated leather. In the same way, a wrapped steering wheel is standard in the Premier trim and optional in the RS.

The LS and LT trims come with a 7-inch infotainment touch screen, while an 8-inch version is standard for upper trims. The LT and RS models use a new safety and infotainment package, including a 360-degree camera system, a heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, and navigation.

This five-seat compact crossover has a rear legroom space of 39.9 inches and 29.6 cubic feet of cargo space or 63.9 cubic feet if the rear seats are folded down.

EXTERIOR STYLING

The exterior styling of the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox maintains the characteristic essence of past models with a few twitches. The base model, LS, uses 17-inch alloy wheels along with LED headlights — now the standard lights for all models. Customers can also opt for a Midnight Edition cosmetics package, which includes black exterior elements and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Another important change has been made to the color palette of the 2023’s lineup with Radiant Red Tintcoat, Harvest Bronze Metallic, and Sterling Gray as the newest options available.

PERFORMANCE

If you had the pleasure of driving the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, then you already know that driving this crossover feels great. Yet, Chevrolet decided to slightly improve the crossover’s brake system, so you can enjoy an even better driving experience.

As we stated before, the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox had a small increase in engine output, but the change here is in the brake system — it now has an electronic booster to upgrade the brakes. In addition, the suspension is set for everyday comfort, and the maximum towing capacity is 3,500 pounds.

INTERESTING FEATURES

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox comes with lots of features that make this crossover a solid option for buyers.

The first feature we’d like to mention is OnStar, a handy system for roadside assistance, emergency service calling, and vehicle diagnostics. Every new Equinox comes with a five-year subscription to this feature.

The second feature is the hands-free tailgate operation, which is activated every time your foot comes near the sensor under the rear bumper as long as you have the key with you. Please note that this is only available for upper trim levels.

And the third and last feature we’d like to mention is the safety alert seat, which informs drivers of approaching threats by vibrating the right or left side of the driver’s seat, depending on the direction of the threat.
