UPGRADE YOUR ENGINE ON THE 2022 CHEVROLET COLORADO

The 2022 Chevrolet Colorado comes with a base four-cylinder at Koons White Marsh Chevrolet. The standard trim level of the Chevrolet Colorado already comes with this powertrain setup. It reaches 181 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. Upgrade to the V6 or diesel engine option to experience the power of the Chevrolet Colorado in White Marsh.
The larger gas-powered engine reaches 308 horsepower at full acceleration. You can tow up to 7,000 pounds with this motor! It pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission to offer more power to your wheels. You will find an all-wheel drivetrain on the new Chevrolet Colorado on the V6 and four-cylinder engines.
The diesel powertrain is the strongest of the three options. It has a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds when under 369 lb-ft of torque. The horsepower on this engine reaches 181 horsepower like the four-cylinder. It uses the same motor setup as the base powertrain on the truck.
4 FAMILY-FRIENDLY UPCOMING EVENTS IN MARYLAND
As the weather starts to cool down during the late summer and early fall, you and your family may be looking for opportunities to explore the state of Maryland and all it has to offer. Below, you can check out some upcoming family-friendly events that you can mark on the family calendar.
TAKE YOUR PUP TO TAILS ON THE RAILS

When you’re talking about attendees to a family-friendly event, you can’t forget any four-legged children in your crew. The B&O Railroad Museum hosts its annual Tails on the Rails event in late October. At this event, every canine, including senior dogs and young pups, is welcome to explore and play.
One of the most anticipated attractions is the photo booth. You can capture photos to remember the day forever, as long as you don’t mind if your dog upstages you. There are plenty of amusing props to use that will make the resulting photos even more fun-filled and memorable. Once your family and pup are done posing, you can hop on a train ride that allows all pups aboard. The train ride leads to Carroll Park where all the furry participants can partake in a playdate.
This event concludes with the colloquially named “Yappy Hour.” At this point, all attendees can socialize on the B&O Railroad Museum’s spacious outdoor patio and enjoy the free alcoholic beverage that comes with each ticket.
If you plan to attend Tails on the Rails this year, be sure to dress yourself, your kids, and your pup in your best Halloween attire. Dressing up with your family will get you into the spirit of the occasion, and you can even enter your pup in the costume contest for a chance at winning a prize.
ENJOY LIVE MUSIC AT SUNFEST
Sunfest is a highly anticipated music festival in Ocean City, Maryland. For 2022, the event is set to start on Oct. 20. No worries if you and your family can’t make it out there that day, however, as Sunfest goes until Oct. 23. It’s a 10-hour long event on the first three days and an eight-hour event on the last day, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore everything it has to offer. Sunfest will occur all four days whether there’s rain or shine, so you don’t have to worry about inclement weather cutting your family’s fun short.
All the festival activities take place on the south end of the city’s famous boardwalk. You’ll find several stands that allow young children to partake in arts and crafts. They’ll have a blast making their creations, and they’ll be able to take a piece of the event home with them. Other activities you’ll want to check out include the hayrides and various food vendors.
Sunfest is also known for its provision of musical entertainment. Although Sunfest hasn’t announced its 2022 acts yet, it’s had engaging headlining performers in the past. Some previous performers have included the likes of The Eli Young Band and The Fabulous Hubcaps. This year, we can expect similar high-quality acts to take the stage at Sunfest.
GATHER WITH THE FREDERICK COMMUNITY AT IN THE STREETS
In The Streets is an annual event in Frederick that’s been a tradition for community members for 30 years. What started as a humble event of around 10,000 people in 1983 has since grown to include more than 75,000 attendees each year. During In The Streets, people from all over Maryland gather to celebrate the history of the Frederick community.
The event begins with a one-mile road race on Market Street. It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned runner or more of a couch potato, as everyone can participate to get some exercise in before the rest of the event continues. There’s a special “Family Run” category to sign up for, so be sure to look out for that when you’re registering.
After you’ve broken a sweat, the real fun begins. Your family can explore all of the event’s themed blocks that run from All Saints Street to 7th Street. This year, the different themed blocks include the Sports Block, the Art Block, the History Block, and the Health & Wellness Block. We’re particularly excited for the Artisan Block, which will feature various products, like soap, jewelry, and artwork, created by local artisans. There are also a few educational blocks, like the Going Green Block, that can teach kids and families how to be better community members.
GO BACK IN TIME AT THE MARYLAND RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL
The Maryland Renaissance Festival is a great family-friendly event where you can embrace your inner child while spending the day with your loved ones. Before you go, be sure to put on your most historic clothing, including puffy long-sleeved shirts, Robin Hood hats, and corsets, to really get into the spirit.
For the 2022 Maryland Renaissance Festival, you can start preparing early because tickets go on sale on Aug.1. You can purchase tickets in advance for any of the nine planned weekends. The first weekend is Aug. 27-28, and the event continues to run on weekends all through September and October.
You’ll find an abundance of activities to participate in at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, so you and your crew may want to buy tickets for multiple weekends. Some planned activities include archery demonstrations, improv comedy shows, and puppet shows. You can browse the festival’s website for specific activities that align with your family’s interests.

Year after year, the Chevrolet Silverado continues to be a top choice for drivers who want a powerful pickup truck with maximum capabilities, whether you’re hauling materials between job sites or heading out on an off-road adventure. In 2023, you can expect Chevy to continue making even more upgrades to its best-selling Silverado lineup. Review this guide to learn how the upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado compares with the 2022 version.
PERFORMANCE

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado offers four drivetrain options, which are expected to remain the same for 2023 models. The base engine is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, though a four-wheel-drive system is available. An upgraded 5.3-liter V-8 engine, which comes standard on some upper-level 2022 Silverado models, boasts 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It offers the same rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive systems as the base engine.
The other two engines offer maximum power and efficiency. A 6.2-liter V-8 engine, standard on the sporty ZR2 trim, delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and connects to a four-wheel-drive system. An available Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine provides 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine, which pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission, offers the best fuel economy in the Silverado lineup. With rear-wheel drive, it gets an EPA-estimated 31 mpg highway and 23 mpg city, while four-wheel-drive versions get an estimated 26 mpg highway and 22 mpg city.
TRIM LEVELS
In 2022, Chevrolet introduced an all-new model to the Silverado lineup: the ZR2, a powerful truck with impressive off-roading capabilities. Slotted between the High Country and LTZ trims, the ZR2 is expected to return in 2023 with minor updates. The ZR2 features newly upgraded steel front and rear bumpers for off-road durability and large underbody aluminum skid plates for extra protection when you’re hitting the trails. A specialized off-road suspension, mud-terrain tires, and standard four-wheel drive make this truck an excellent choice for anyone looking to travel off the beaten path.
Other trims in the 2022 Silverado lineup include the ever-capable LT, the stylish LTZ, and the top-level High Country. While these trims are likely to continue into the 2023 model year, Chevy may discontinue the Silverado 1500 Limited, according to the blog, GM Authority. Even without the Limited, the 2023 Silverado fleet will offer plenty of options for drivers seeking different features and customizations within varying price points.
EXTERIOR
In 2022, the Silverado received some exterior upgrades that are expected to carry over into the 2023 model year. These features include redesigned headlamps, a new front bumper and grille, and available 18-, 20-, and 22-inch wheel options. An available multi-flex tailgate, which is likely to be an option for most 2023 Silverado trims, provides various load and access features for enhanced versatility.
The 2023 Chevy Silverado will likely come with the same three cab configurations as the 2022 model year, which are crew, double, and regular. The double cab comes with a standard bed, measuring 89 inches. A smaller bed size is available in crew cab versions, while the regular cab offers a long bed. According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2023 Silverado could come in three new exterior colors: Radiant Red Tintcoat, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Harvest Bronze Metallic.
INTERIOR
Depending on the trim and cab configuration you choose, the 2023 Chevy Silverado will likely have the same passenger occupancy as the 2022 model year. The regular cab versions can seat three passengers with a 40/20/40 split-bench front seat, while the double and crew cab Silverado models have seating for up to six passengers. The base trim comes standard with vinyl seats, while higher trims offer cloth or leather upholstery. Other available features, which may come standard in some 2023 trims, include heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
TECHNOLOGY
The Chevy Silverado received upgraded technology features in 2022, and it’s likely the 2023 models will continue to offer those same high-tech features. A 7-inch touch screen comes standard on the three lower trims, while all other models feature a 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment touch screen. The larger touch screen offers Bluetooth streaming, a multi-touch display, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. You can customize the display’s entertainment and vehicle features to access the apps and functions you use the most. Other features likely to be standard on some 2023 models include wireless charging and Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
SAFETY
Every 2022 Chevrolet Silverado comes equipped with Chevy Safety Assist, a comprehensive package of safety and driver-assistance features to keep you and your passengers safe on the road. In 2023, expect those same safety features to be included on all Silverado models. The Chevy Safety Assist package includes:
- Forward collision alert: This feature warns you when a front-end collision may occur so you can take action. It also provides a tailgating alert when it senses the truck following another vehicle too closely.
- Automatic emergency braking: At speeds below 50 mph, automatic emergency braking can apply the brakes in some situations to help you avoid a front-end collision.
- Front pedestrian braking: This safety feature provides alerts and can automatically apply the brakes to help you avoid a front-end collision with a pedestrian.
- Lane keep assist with lane departure warning: If you unintentionally drift outside of a lane, this feature will use alerts to steer you safely back into the correct lane.
- Following distance indicator: By displaying the gap time in seconds between the Silverado and another vehicle, this feature can help you decide if you’re following too closely.
- High beam assist: This feature automatically turns the truck’s high-beam headlights on and off based on traffic, providing safe, enhanced illumination when you’re driving at night.

Towing capacity for this beast of an EV maxes out at a GM-estimated 10,000 pounds and offers 14 available camera views, so you can see the world around you even with ease. If you opt for the more robust WT model, you can get up to 20,000 towing capacity, meaning you can take your trailer along for the adventure of a lifetime.

POWER AND PERFORMANCE
This stylish EV offers up to 200 horsepower that can get you up to freeway speeds in under 6.5 seconds. Speaking of charging, the Bolt EV also has home charging capabilities and if you lease or purchase a new 2022 Bolt EV, Chevrolet will cover home charging installation for a Level 2 charging outlet. You can also track your vehicle’s charge with the myChevrolet mobile app, so you have more control over your car’s performance.
The Bolt also uses one pedal driving technology that uses a regenerative braking system that helps slow the vehicle without needing a break. To further customize your driving experience, you can also engage sports mode with a simple press of a button that enhances the vehicle’s acceleration capabilities.

It’s a stylish vehicle with a powerful engine that can easily take on any competition. These performance features are what make the Camaro so popular among drivers.
-20-inch satin graphite aluminum wheels: These wheels are not only stylish but also help to improve the Camaro’s performance. They’re designed to provide better grip and handling, making it easier to take on tight turns and corners.
-Magnetic Ride Control: This feature helps to absorb bumps in the road, providing a smoother ride for passengers. It also improves the Camaro’s handling, making it even easier to take on tight turns.
-Brembo brakes: The Camaro is equipped with high-performance Brembo brakes that can easily stop the car at high speeds. This makes it a great choice for anyone who wants to experience the thrill of driving a muscle car.
THE 2023 CHEVY TAHOE SS IS HERE!
For those considering a Chevy Tahoe, you may want to wait a few months for the release of the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe SS. Rumor has it that the SS packs quite a punch. This new high-performance model gives the three-row SUV enhanced speed, making it fun to drive. The Koons White Marsh Chevrolet team proudly announces that the 2023 Chevy Tahoe SS is here!
EXTERIOR FEATURES

The SS on the model name of the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe SS stands for Super Sport. This new trim of the Chevy Tahoe is sure to impress when it hits the road. This new take on the Tahoe includes standard features such as distinctive 18-inch alloy wheels, with an updated front fascia to resemble more of the Silverado’s principles. You can also expect to see redesigned taillights, a unique grille, upgraded brakes, and perhaps even adaptive air suspension on the latest Tahoe trim.
Not much else is known about the exterior features at this time, as Chevrolet has been keeping the new Tahoe SS under heavy camouflage, making it a challenge for even the best spy photographers to get a good shot.
ENGINE OPTIONS
Today’s most powerful engine in the Tahoe lineup is a 6.2-liter V8 that delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine can take the Tahoe from zero to 60 in approximately 6.5 seconds, which is already an impressive feat for a large SUV. Imagine if Chevy adds a 6.2-liter V8 LT4 to the SS trim. That’s the engine from the Camaro ZL1 and the most-rumored engine option for the 2023 Chevy Tahoe SS.
The LT4 option cranks out 650 horsepower and up to 650 lb-ft of torque for some serious power. The Camaro goes from zero to 60 in just four seconds with the LT4 engine. The Tahoe is heavier and larger than the Camaro, so we don’t expect to see quite that fast of a takeoff, but the power option is still impressive.
Another option would be the 5.3-liter V8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. That engine is the current Tahoe standard, so it would need to be amped up to qualify as high-performance for this Super Sport trim. Of course, there are also rumors that the Tahoe SS will be equipped with a new hybrid engine or at least have one as an option. Either way, we can’t wait to see what Chevrolet puts under the hood of this high-performance Tahoe SS.
INTERIOR FEATURES
The 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe SS can expect to have tri-zone weather conditions control, leather-twisted controls, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and satellite radio. It should also have a 10.2-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone capabilities. The Tahoe SS offers plenty of legroom for each row, including the third row that comfortably seats any adult. The front seats will be heated and ventilated, while the second-row outboard seats will have heat. You can also expect to get keyless entry, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and a dual-pane sunroof to let the sun shine in on everyone.
SAFETY AND DRIVER-ASSISTANCE FEATURES
Chevrolet knows how important safety and driver-assistance features are when it comes to purchasing a new vehicle and has packed the 2023 Tahoe SS accordingly. Standard features should include an advanced air bag system, forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist, and parking sensors as they’re the current standard safety and driver-assistance features on the Tahoe LS. Available features include a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, a head-up display, a surround-view parking camera system, and adaptive cruise control. You can drive confidently in the 2023 Tahoe SS knowing that Chevrolet has the safety of you and your passengers covered.
CARGO AND TOWING FEATURES
As a large SUV, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe SS is designed to be a hauler, whether that’s for cargo or people. Depending on the engine that ends up in the latest Tahoe trim, you should be able to haul between 7,500 and 8,400 pounds with the SS and the Max Trailering package. This available capacity means you can bring along the boat, RV, or ATV for a weekend of adventure and fun with your Tahoe.
You also get plenty of cargo space behind the third row to let everyone pack for the weekend. The current Tahoe offers approximately 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 73 cubic feet when you fold down the third row, and 123 cubic feet with both rear rows folded down. We don’t expect Chevy to change the available cargo space in the SS because the Tahoe is known for its ability to haul people or cargo wherever you need.
2023 CHEVY TAHOE SS RELEASE DATE
Chevrolet has not officially announced an anticipated release date for the 2023 Tahoe SS. We expect this latest trim to hit showroom floors across the nation in the late fall of 2022. Chevrolet is expected to release at least six trim levels for the Tahoe, from the base LS to the High Country. You can get a 2022 Tahoe in the LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country trims. It’s unclear whether the SS will be an additional trim level, bringing the options to seven, or if it will replace one of the current trims. Either way, the anticipation is unbearable.
