Home to the Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the nation, the great state of Maryland has a lot to offer when it comes to seafood. Whether you want to dine on mussels, oysters, clams, fish, shrimp, or lobsters, Maryland has it all. However, the pride and joy of this East Coast state is the majestic blue crab. Maryland is the largest provider of this particular breed of crustaceans in the U.S.

Crab cakes, crab soup, crab dip, and steamed crab are all on the menu in Baltimore and other shore cities in Maryland. Lovingly known as the “Crab Cake Capital of the World,” many swear that this state has the most delicious crab meat on the globe. So what’s all the hubbub about? Read on to explore some of the best crab cake restaurants in Maryland so you can find out for yourself.

FAIDLEY’S SEAFOOD

Since 1886, Faidley’s Seafood has been serving the Baltimore area with award-winning crab cakes and fresh and prepared seafood in a festive marketplace setting. Known for its huge, jumbo-lump crab cakes and raw oysters, this family-owned and operated spot offers intriguing recipes like seared scallops with mango salsa, creamy oyster stew, shad roe, and baked rockfish. If you can’t choose between the crab, shrimp, fish, oysters, clams, calamari, and mussels, try the Seafood Assortment platter that comes with an assemblage of items and two sides.
